March Break Trips:

Washington DC

Over the past two years our unit has participated in two March Break Trips. In 2012 we toured Ottawa and in 2013 we toured Washington DC. On both trips we toured many of the important historical and educational sights. While in Ottawa we were billeted at Canadian Forces Base Connaught Ranges and when visiting Washington, the United States Marine Corps Base Quantico.

Inter-Provincial Exchanges:

Cadets across Canada are provided opportunities as both individuals and as a unit to participate in inter-provincial exchanges. Exchange opportunities to other countries are also made available each year.

Since we have now hosted a unit in Oakville, it is expected that we will soon be selected to attend a fully funded inter-provincial exchange of our own.In the winter of 2013, thirty Air Cadets from Newfoundland’s 905 ‘Viking’ RCACS and their officer staff visited our unit for 5 days as part of a fully funded inter- provincial cadet exchange. We hosted them at the local Hilton Garden Inn and each day they explored several of Toronto’s sights including the Royal Ontario Museum, the CN Tower, the Hockey Hall of Fame, Niagara Falls, Casa Loma (see photo) to name a few. Cadets from both units ate at local restaurants as the cadets from our unit showed them ‘around the town’.
