The basic structure of the Army Cadet Expedition program is focused on three activities: Biking-Canoeing-Hiking.
Training is provided to enable cadets to be able to master each of these activities. Oakville Army Cadets have the opportunity to participate in Expedition Training weekends at both the Silver and Gold Star levels, with the final day consisting of an Endurance Race that requires skills in Biking-Canoeing-Hiking.
As well as part of Summer Camp Army Cadets can have the opportunity to attend a 3 week Basic Expedition course and later a 6 week Expedition Instructor course.
At the more senior levels Regional, Provincial and National Expedition exercises are offered to Army Cadets. These expeditions include kayaking, rappelling and canoe trips that can be up to 18 days long. Again all of these activities are just part of the Army Cadet program and are at no cost to the participant.
