Several times a year Oakville Army Cadets have the opportunity to participate in a major Outdoor Field Training Exercise or Camping Weekend. These organized overnight activities typically take place in the Fall, Winter and Spring of each year.

Each of the seasons dictate the individual weekend activities, such as: Wilderness Survival Skills, Outdoor Leadership, Map and Compass Navigation, GPS and Orienteering Familiarization, Hiking, Snow Shoeing, Shelter Building, Radio Communications, and Outdoor meal preparation, to name but a few.
